Dr. Ricki Pollycove brings a rigorous scientific background and 45 years of clinical practice and wisdom and will share with IWF members her insights on "Hormones, Women’s Transition to Menopause & Optimal Longevity." She is an expert on breast cancer in addition to women’s heart health, cognition, diabetes, bone health and mental health, especially as these systems relate to hormone support in menopause.

This program has been organized by IWF NorCal member Ann Blackburn as part of the IWF NorCal Women's Health series.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Ricki Pollycove, founder of the San Francisco Integrative Gynecology, has a national reputation for offering highly individualized and sensitive health care to women for over 35 years. She is a leader in the promotion of women’s health and a world class expert in bioidentical hormone therapy. Dr. Pollycove helps patients with complex hormonal imbalances at every stage of life that can cause metabolic and weight issues, including estrogen, testosterone, thyroid dysfunction, hair loss and fatigue disorders.

Dr. Pollycove has served on many medical boards and medical research boards throughout her career including the American Society of Breast Disease, the North American Menopause Society, and the California Medical Association. She is the former Chief of the Division of Gynecology at the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC),in addition to serving as the chair of the task force to create CPMC”s Breast Health Center and is its founding Director for Education.

Raised in Walnut Creek, she was inspired at the age of 8 by a neighbor who was a mother, wife and pediatrician. She earned a BA In Zoology-Immunology at UC Berkeley, followed by a master’s degree in health sciences. She earned her M.D. at UC San Francisco (when 6% of medical students were female) and became a certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She continues to expand her knowledge of alternative and complimentary therapies.
